While googling the web remains of the obviously now defunct NY Trip-hop scene I came across a band called Market, a NY based group from the late 90's. I was suprised to find such a traditional sound from a US group. Interested in what had become of the members I did a bit of research and found Phil Painson, the drummer's myspace page:

I can't say I'm a huge fan of anything off his myspace other than the "Mazzy Star 'Dissapear' Remix" which is the only trip-hop oriented track he has uploaded, but it alone is reason enough to head on over.
He also has the music video for "M6" by Market on his page,

Sadly, I doubt you'll find their album anywhere other than torrent sites these days, just Google: market trip hop.
